About the Girl

One of the hardest things for some people to do is to describe themselves. I'm one of those people.

I am currently a graphic design major working towards my Associates in Arts at Parkland College in Champaign, IL. I have been in the Champaign area since about 1987. Before living in the humid state of Illinois, I was in the gorgeous state of Colorado. I was born right outside of Denver in Aurora. I don't remember much about Colorado other than the pictures I took while on vacation to my birth place in August of 1995.

School has always been a big part of my life, and for the most part I've taken it seriously. I've had some times where I had to put my education back a notch to spend more time on my health, physically and mentally. For the most part, I've also got good grades. Some classes just didn't do it for me though -- like history. My favorites were always culture, art, and computer classes. Once I got in college, I found the media courses quite interesting as well.

I'm an animal freak. I'd be a vet, but I can't handle the sight of blood. I spend a lot of time with my English Setter, Sadie. I also have a Russian black bear hamster, Loki. Before Loki, I had two other hamsters named Luke and Leia. For my 20th birthday I was given two cockatiels who I named Gaz and Dib. Dib died shortly after; she refused to eat. Gaz died about a week later. I think it might have been because my dog got into the room and scared her.

Recently, I've been reading a lot more than I have in the past. I read almost anything I can get ahold of -- even cereal boxes or friends' comic books. I even read about half the time I vacationed in South Dakota during the Summer of 2005. In addition to reading, I'm often sleeping nearly 12 hours, taking Sadie for walks, or playing games online. I hang out with friends on occasion, but I'm normally too caught up in either work or school that my schedule normally conflicts with my friends. I do keep in touch with them though, through AOL Instant Messanger, LiveJournal, or message boards.
