The worst thing imaginable happened this past month. My dog, and best friend, Sadie was put down on Sept 27th. It sucks not having my baby to warm my spot up in my bed for me, or not having her there to cuddle and play with. I still find myself in my old habits that changed quickly for her when we first got her. I still close the gates, I still look for her around the house, I’m still trying to feed her, I still get up in the middle of the night to go let her out. I was at Petsmart today getting some stuff for my ferrets. Usually when I’m there I grab a toy for Sadie too. It was so hard not to buy her toy. I’ve never lost a dog before, and it really sucks. She was like the perfect companion that I could’ve asked for.

Although now, I’m spoiling my friends’ dogs since I dont have mine anymore. I need to watch it though because I had a dog hump me the other night because I spoiled it so much. *sigh* That’s one thing I never had to worry about Sadie doing….

Wow. Imagine me listening to Bob Dylan. Well, I’m not really, but I do like that song.

Anyway, I’m sitting here in Joliet, IL for the week off work. Yay! I love vacations away from home. A lot’s sort of happened since my last entry. I’m no longer working 10PM-6AM anymore, which totally kicks ass. That way I can go out and see more of my friends more often. That, and I’ve met a lot of really cool people in the past month that I’ve been back on a normal shift.

I’ve also met a handful of graphic artists/web designers that are sort of inspiring me to keep up with my website, but I’m too lazy.. Mainly because I’m too addicted to MySpace and Facebook. I’ve also started talking a little more often to a web designer friend that I haven’t talked to in what seems like forever.

Uh oh.. White Men Can’t Jump is on TV.. Serena must go watch old stupid 90s movies.. They are calling her name.

Crazy. Seems like just yesterday I was pissed off because I was sick and wasn’t able to go out on New Year’s Eve. Although, it does feel like I’ve been working the 10PM-6AM shift forever though. Apparently the overnight checker is coming back in 8 more weeks, but my boss wants me back on day shifts.. He feels so bad for me doing 3rd for 4 months now.

As for my car issue… I’ve decided to sort of follow Dad’s actions. He rides his motorcycle EVERYWHERE. Me, I want a moped, because I’m a nerd. I figure I’ll ride my moped like half the year, save a ton of money from gas since they get at least 85 mpg… Plus, the most expensive ones I’ve seen are like $1,900. Then when I REALLY need to, I’ll have my car for when the weather’s nasty or something of the sort.

After learning a few things this past week, I’ve decided to go back to school, full time this fall. Although one of my classes, I don’t really need, but I’m a sucker when it comes to languages. I might end up dropping it before August though And, I’m taking a summer class. I’m taking Astronomy 101. I’m excited about it. It starts tomorrow, but I’ve already sort of done all the preliminary things, like the assessment test…

So everything else is all good and dandy. I’m going to go make some chicken taquitos though, because for some odd reason, I’m REALLY craving them.

I’ve been slacking on my blogging duties, eh? It’s been over a month. I’ve even been sort of slacking on my LiveJournal as well, and well, for awhile the MySpace blog was getting some attention.

I’m still working the graveyard shift over at the grocery store. If it wasn’t for some of the customers and a couple of my co-workers, I would have gone back to days awhile ago. 3rd shift is starting to wear me down. It’s been 3.5 months now. Although, it did make my paid vacation seem a little more desirable than what it normally is.

Speaking of my vacation, it was from May 8th-15th. Tristan drove from South Dakota to come pick me up and take me back to SD with him. For the most part, I did have fun. If I wasn’t having fun, I was sleeping. We got out there Monday night. Didn’t really do anything then, I passed out all extra early from working all night the night before and then taking turns with Tristan for the drive. Tuesday, we did a little bit of hiking and hung out near the Missouri River. I swear, Tuesday was the nicest day the whole time I was there. It was the only day I didn’t need a jacket. Wednesday was really cold and windy. I pretty much played on Tristan’s computer until he got up. We hiked up Spirit Mound with his two dogs because his mom wanted us to take them for a walk… And I wanted to do some more hiking. When we got back, I passed out. Woke up for dinner, and passed back out. I slept for like 16 hours that night. It was insane. Thursday, Tristan, his mom, and I went up to Sioux Falls to go to the zoo because I was acting like a 2 year old and wanted to see the monkeys. The monkeys made the whole trip. I think I finally got to see HITCH that night too. Good movie. Friday, we went to Sioux City and hung out at this park right next to a casino next to the Missouri River. Went back, passed out… Did A LOT of sleeping. I think that’s what I needed.

The night I got there though, Connor, my ferret, was cracking me up. We let all the ferrets go play outside. Connor LOVES playing in water, but he’s only been in water about half inch deep in the bathtub. He stuck his front half of his body in this little pond they have, and Connor realized it’s deeper than he thought, so he jolted for the other side of the yard and found a bunch of dirt to dig in. He’s so freakin’ cute. I love my little ferret. And I think he loved it in South Dakota where he had some little buddies to cause trouble with.

I’ve finally got around to making a 404 page. I got tired of going to the main site whenever i made a typographical error on my site.

Im sure most of you that will see this 404 page will be wondering “what the hell was she thinking?!” The image you see is my 3 month old ferret who doesnt seem to be quite with it in the picture. hence “not found” because well, nothing’s there.

It’s just supposed to be cute. Decent picture too for being taken with my camera phone.
I need to create a moblog section for connor since i’ve taken tons of pics of him already.

And neato. I think I need to figure out how to add smilies. I like smilies. My phone has a ton of them, and they make me happy

So this ONE entry from October has been spammed the hell out of. I wonder why it’s just this ONE entry that triggered like 17 comments which are actually links to sites selling xanax and viagra and crap like that. First off… I’m a 21 year old female.. I don’t think I’d have an interest in viagra. Argh. So when I was moderating these comments, I marked them as spam, and hopefully I wont get them for much longer. Because well, its just annoying.

Not too much has been going on with me lately though.. I chopped off like 6 inches of my hair since my last post. People at work are still seeing it for the first time since I’ve started the overnight shifts and I dont see that many people anymore.

My family has a new pet. A ferret, which I’ve named Connor, meaning “much wanted” because I just wanted a ferret so bad. He’s a cutie. I gave him a bath for the first time this morning, and that was an experience in itself.

Last weekend was the University of Illinois’ Unofficial St. Patricks Day, and I had to miss it because of work. A whole day where you can pregame until like 1 and then have all sorts of fun. Next weekend is official, and well, I’ll be working overnight that night too. I like overnights and all, but damnit. I’m 21 and I’m missing out on all sorts of fun parties because I’m stuck working overnight 5 nights a week. Hopefully next week will be my last week, like I was told it would be 5 weeks ago. I’d kind of like my life back. I dont mind working 40 hours, but not all overnights. Im actually tempted to see if I can take one of my vacations early. I’d like a week to just go nuts. But I think if I wait until May 8th, it’ll be worth the while.

I got sick of that template I had. I finally sat my butt down with dreamweaver and pretty much threatened it. Yep. But the picture itself is what inspired me. My little sister insisted on doing my hair and makeup one night before I went to go work an overnight shift. She was so proud, she wanted to take pictures. The finished product wasnt really what I originally had in mind, but I really like the way it came out, so I left it. So ya, the girl on the side is me. I’m sure all you photoshop people know how I did it.. If not, go play with photoshop. It’s tons of fun.

Seriously, it’s only 35 days into the year, and I’m ready for 2006 to be over.. It’s been nothing but horrible.

Start off the year sick, my 96-year-old great-grandmother passed away, my camry broke down half way to my grandmother’s funeral, cost $200 to tow the sucker home, got tormented with a ‘88 BMW 325i convertible, realize I can’t see my boyfriend again until possibly May when school’s out, someone who I thought was a friend tried to rape me (luckily without success) my hamster died tonight, and well, that’s a lot for a month’s time. If this is growing up, then I’ll sit in my room till I rot drinking my UV blue and lemonade.. Oh wait, that’s what I’m doing right now.

I’ve done some thinking tonight. I’m changing my major.. I enjoy art, yes, but I actually want to do something useful and productive, not just make pretty things to look at. So with that in mind, I’m dropping my drawing 2 class, and picking up a midterm course, hopefully online because starting Tuesday, I’m doing the 10pm-6am shift until the end of March.

Not being able to see Tristan until school’s out really sucks. Valentines Day is only a few days away, no biggie… But our one year anniversary is on the 24th, and will I be able to see him? No. I wish I could win like $500 from the lottery so I could take a few days off work to go see him, although he’d be in school for most of a few days.

I hope everyone enjoyed ringing in 2006. I know I sure did. I was lying in bed with some cold care tea. Yep, I caught a nasty cold for new years. Then I turned around and gave it to my boyfriend! It didn’t seem to hit him as hard as it did me. Mainly because he took medicine for it, where all I wanted to do was sleep.

I started school this week. Im actually supposed to be in class right now, but I woke up not feeling too well for certain reasons, so I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep until I felt like I was going to puke. And no, Im not hung over. Actually, since I’m home and just hanging out online, I should check out the stuff for my online religions course. I was going to do a little reading last night, but I got a little distracted by me starting to feel sick.

I really want to redo the look of the site already. I need something completely original and completely me. Plus, I need to get some content up soon, too besides the pictures of my dog, which everyone has already seen a bazillion times.
